What I'm Loving For TV In 2016
It feels as if 2016 has just started, but it's obviously been long enough for me to watch 6 seasons of a TV show. I started watching The Good Wife due to the suggestion of my friends mother, and I love it. If you like lawyers, Mr. Big from Sex and the City, politics and drama; then you will love this show. Besides binge watching this, 2016 has also brought the mid season premiers of many shows we love and rave over. So when it comes to TV there is one name that we've all become familiar with, and it's Shonda Rhimes.
Pro tip: If you're a student you can create an amazon prime account with your student email for a year of free 2 day shipping and a large variety of movies and TV shows for free (as if Netflix wasn't taking up enough of your time already).
Ever since Grey's Anatomy Rhimes has been creating new shows that have gotten a lot of hype, and I've got to say I'm a fan. In addition to Grey's Anatomy, her other two popular shows Scandal and How To Get Away With Murder aired their mid season premiers and we were all on the edge of our seats. Anyone else desperately waiting for Meredith and Alex to hook up in Grey's? To be honest after 11 seasons and the death of a character we all loved, and Christina being gone, that's the only thing keeping me watching. Shonda Rhimes isn't stopping with those three shows being a hit, she's releasing another show and you best believe I can't wait to watch. The Catch which premiers on March 24, stars Mireille Enos (The Killing) and looks as if we're in for some good TV drama and scandal. Watch the trailer for The Catch here. The show is about a female forensic accountant who exposes fraud (in of course a dramatic and suspenseful way). I'm excited to check this out because Rhimes has yet to disappoint, so chances are this show will be a success just like the rest of her shows.
While at the movies I saw a trailer for another new show I'm intrigued by. (By the way I saw the Revenant and How To Be Single, if you have to pick one to see, choose the Revenant). A new show called The Family is premiering Thursday March 3 on ABC and I'm super excited about it. Click here to watch the trailer. Between politics, the return of a missing child, and family drama, this show looks like it will have us all on the edge of our seats wanting to see more.
There's one movie I have to talk about which is the new xXx, mostly because I'm obsessed with Vin Diesel. For those who know me, I have a weird thing for him and have ever since the first Fast and Furious, and the first xXx. The first movie starred Vin Diesel and the second Ice Cube. At the end of the first xXx Xander Cage (Vin Diesel) was presumed dead, but as we can see with the production of a new movie being made, he's back. There are multiple reasons I'm pumped about this movie and Vin Diesel isn't the only reason. For all my Vampire Diaries lovers, Nina Dobrev is staring in this new movie along with Ruby Rose (Orange Is The New Black). Although this movie won't be out until 2017 I will be patiently waiting and closely following the actors/actresses for any updates or trailers for the movie.
